The Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine (SIEAM) is a nationally-accredited, professional school offering a four-year doctoral program in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). SIEAM is one of only four accredited TCM programs in the United States, and the only one in the Pacific Northwest.

SIEAM's curriculum is based on the traditional Chinese medical model which views the human body and its functions as a microcosm of the universe. The goal of TCM is to maintain balance and harmony within the body and its various systems, and to prevent and treat disease.

SIEAM's doctoral program includes coursework in TCM theory, acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Western biomedical sciences, and clinical training. Students also have the opportunity to study Tai Chi, Qigong, and meditation.

Upon graduation, SIEAM students are eligible to take the national board exams to become licensed acupuncturists and Chinese herbalists. SIEAM graduates are prepared to enter into private practice, or to pursue careers in research, teaching, or public health.
