Saint Cloud State University is a public university in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. It is one of the largest universities in the state of Minnesota, with over 16,000 students enrolled in its undergraduate and graduate programs. The university offers a wide variety of degree programs, including business, education, engineering, and liberal arts. Saint Cloud State University is a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.

The university was founded in 1869 as a normal school, which trained teachers for the Minnesota public school system. The school was later renamed Saint Cloud State Teachers College, and then Saint Cloud State College, before finally becoming a university in 1975. The university has undergone a number of expansions and renovations over the years, most recently with the opening of its new Millenium Student Center in 2013.

Saint Cloud State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It is also home to a number of research centers and institutes, including the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, the Institute for Ethical Leadership, and the Center for Small Towns.

The university's athletic teams compete in the NCAA Division II and are known as the Huskies. The men's hockey team has won five national championships, and the women's soccer team has won two.
