The State University of New York College of Optometry is a public college of optometry located in New York City. It is one of only a handful of schools in the United States that trains optometrists. It is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system.

The college was founded in 1971 and its first class graduated in 1974. It is accredited by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education. The college offers a four-year Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree program.

The college has been ranked as one of the top optometry schools in the country by U.S. News & World Report. It is also one of the most selective optometry schools, with an acceptance rate of less than 5%.

The college's campus is located in the borough of Manhattan, in the Financial District. It is adjacent to SUNY Downstate Medical Center and within walking distance of many other hospitals and clinics.

The college offers a wide range of clinical experiences, including primary care, contact lenses, low vision, pediatrics, and ocular disease. It also has a strong research program, with faculty members conducting basic and clinical research in a variety of areas.

The college has more than 3,000 alumni, who are practicing optometry in all 50 states and in more than 30 countries.
