Rockhurst University is a private Jesuit university located in Kansas City, Missouri. The university was founded in 1910 by the Society of Jesus and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Rockhurst is the oldest and largest Jesuit university in the United States and the only one west of the Mississippi River. The university enrolls approximately 2,800 students in undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. The university's campus is located in the historic Country Club Plaza district and consists of eight academic buildings, a library, a student center, and athletic facilities. The university is home to a number of varsity teams, including men's and women's basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, and track and field. Rockhurst also offers a variety of club sports, including men's and women's rugby, ultimate frisbee, and water polo.
