Rensselaer at Hartford, also known as RPI, is a private university located in Hartford, Connecticut. It was founded in 1824 and is one of the oldest universities in the United States. The university is known for its engineering and science programs, and its alumni include several astronauts, Nobel laureates, and CEOs of major corporations. RPI also has a strong athletic program, with its men's hockey team winning the NCAA Division I championship in 1985. The university enrolls approximately 5,000 students and has a faculty of over 400.
