Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico-Orlando (PUPR-Orlando) is a four-year, private, co-educational, land-grant university located in Orlando, Florida, United States. It is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. It is the only accredited institution of higher learning in Central Florida that offers bachelor's and graduate degrees in engineering, computer science, business administration, and other STEM disciplines.
The university was founded in 2001 as a branch campus of the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico (PUPR). In 2007, PUPR-Orlando was granted land-grant status by the United States Department of Agriculture, becoming the first and only land-grant university in Central Florida. In 2012, the university was renamed from Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico-Orlando to its current name.
The university offers bachelor's degrees in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, computer science, business administration, and other STEM disciplines. It also offers master's degrees in engineering, business administration, and computer science. In addition, the university offers a Ph.D. in engineering.
The university has a student body of approximately 1,200 students. The student-to-faculty ratio is 18:1. The average class size is 25 students. The university has an alumni network of over 5,000 alumni.
The university is a member of the Puerto Rico State System of Higher Education, the Association of American Universities, and the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy. The university is also a member of the American Association of Colleges and Universities, the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents, and the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges.
