Payne Theological Seminary is a private, historically black graduate school in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is affiliated with the African Methodist Episcopal Church. The seminary was founded in 1828 by the Rev. Daniel Payne, a minister of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. It is the oldest African-American seminary in the United States.

The seminary's mission is to prepare men and women for Christian ministry, leadership, and service. The seminary offers Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Religion, and Doctor of Ministry degrees. The seminary is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada.

Payne Theological Seminary is committed to the education of men and women for ministry in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and other churches. The seminary seeks to develop in its students a deep understanding of the Bible and Christian theology; a commitment to the historic principles of Wesleyan Christianity; and the ability to apply these principles in ministry.
