Parker University was founded in 1982 by Dr. James Parker, a chiropractor. The university was originally named Parker Chiropractic College. In 1998, the college was renamed Parker College of Chiropractic. In 2005, the college began offering acupuncture and Oriental medicine programs and was renamed Parker University.
