Montana State University-Northern is a public university in Havre, Montana. The university is part of the Montana State University System and offers associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. The university is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.

The university was founded in 1929 as the Northern Montana Normal School, a two-year teaching college. In 1937, the school became Northern Montana College and began offering four-year degrees. In 1965, the college was renamed Montana State University-Northern and became part of the Montana State University System.

The university has an enrollment of approximately 1,500 students. The student body is diverse, with students from all over the United States and more than 20 countries represented. The university offers a variety of academic programs, including business, education, engineering, health sciences, and liberal arts.
