Admission Requirements
LeTourneau University is a private, co-educational university located in Longview, Texas, United States, with programs offered online and at educational centers around the world. The university is affiliated with the Churches of Christ.
LeTourneau University was founded in 1946 by R.G. LeTourneau, an industrialist and inventor who later became known as the "Henry Ford of heavy equipment." The university was originally established as a technical institute to train World War II veterans in the skills needed to work in the postwar economy.
In 1955, the institute was renamed LeTourneau Technical Institute, and in 1957 it was accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools as a two-year college. The institute began offering four-year degrees in engineering in 1959 and became LeTourneau College in 1961.
The university achieved university status in 1971 and was renamed LeTourneau University. The university has grown steadily in the years since, adding new programs and facilities.
LeTourneau University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate, baccalaureate, and master's degrees.
The university offers more than 50 undergraduate majors and 20 graduate programs across a wide range of disciplines, including engineering, business, education, aviation, nursing, and the liberal arts.
LeTourneau University has a rolling admissions policy, meaning that applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the year. There is no deadline for applications, but students are encouraged to apply early to ensure the best chance of admission.
To be considered for admission, applicants must submit an application, transcripts, test scores, and a non-refundable application fee. International students must also submit proof of English proficiency.
