The Institute for Clinical Social Work (ICSW) is a professional school that trains social workers to provide clinical services to individuals, families, and groups. ICSW offers a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree as well as a Doctor of Social Work (DSW) degree. The MSW program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and the DSW program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). ICSW is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

ICSW was founded in 1984 by Dr. Ruth S. Kemper, a clinical social worker and psychotherapist. The school was originally located in Chicago, Illinois, but moved to its current location in Evanston, Illinois in 1998. ICSW is an independent, non-profit institution that is governed by a Board of Trustees. The school is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA).

ICSW offers a variety of programs and services to its students. The MSW program is a two-year, full-time program that offers four areas of concentration: Clinical Practice with Individuals and Families, Clinical Practice with Children and Families, Clinical Practice with Groups, and Clinical Practice with Communities. The DSW program is a three-year, full-time program that offers two areas of concentration: Clinical Leadership and Management, and Clinical Research. ICSW also offers a part-time MSW program and a PhD in Social Work.

ICSW has a strong commitment to social justice and diversity. The school offers a number of scholarships and financial aid programs to help students with the cost of tuition. ICSW also offers a number of student organizations and clubs, as well as a student newspaper, The Clinical Social Work Journal.
