Founded in 1938 by progressive educators, Goddard College was one of the first institutions of higher education in the United States to embrace a student-centered approach to learning. The college was a pioneer in developing an educational model that valued the individual student’s experience and growth over traditional academic measures.

Over the years, Goddard has continued to evolve and innovate, always staying true to its core values of social justice, inclusivity, and respect for the individual. Today, the college offers a unique low-residency educational experience that combines online learning with on-campus residencies. Students have the opportunity to design their own degree programs, working with faculty mentors to create a course of study that meets their unique needs and interests.

Goddard College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and is recognized as a leader in progressive education. The college has been ranked as one of the best values in higher education by both The Princeton Review and Kiplinger’s Personal Finance.
