Eureka College is a small, private, liberal arts college in Eureka, Illinois, United States. It is the only college in the world founded by abolitionist students from a college that closed rather than admit African Americans. The college is affiliated with the Disciples of Christ.

Eureka College was founded in 1855 by a group of students from Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois, who were opposed to the college's decision to not admit African-American students. The students raised funds and recruited faculty, and the college opened its doors in 1856.

The college faced many challenges in its early years, including the American Civil War, which resulted in the closure of the college for four years. Despite these challenges, the college graduated its first class in 1860.

In the early 20th century, the college experienced financial difficulties, and in 1930, it was forced to close its doors. However, the college was revived in 1935 and has been in operation ever since.

Eureka College has a long history of producing notable alumni, including President Ronald Reagan, who graduated from the college in 1932. Other notable alumni include actress Helen Hayes, author Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., and politician Adlai Stevenson.

Eureka College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and offers bachelor's degrees in a variety of disciplines. The college has an enrollment of approximately 700 students.
