East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania is a public university in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. It is one of the 14 state universities of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). The university traces its roots back to the East Stroudsburg Normal School, which was established in 1893. The school became East Stroudsburg State Teachers College in 1928 and East Stroudsburg State College in 1960. The school attained university status in 1983 and its current name in 1996.
The university offers over 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Its undergraduate programs are organized into five colleges: the College of Business and Management, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the College of Professional Studies. The university's graduate programs are offered through the College of Education and the College of Business and Management.
The university's athletic teams compete in the NCAA Division II and are members of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). The Warriors field 17 varsity teams and have won numerous PSAC and conference championships.
The university is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. It is also designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.
