Concordia University-Nebraska is a private, coeducational university located in Seward, Nebraska, United States. The university is affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) and offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Concordia University-Nebraska was founded in 1894 as Concordia College, a two-year college by members of the LCMS. The school was moved to Seward in 1902, where it became a four-year college and began offering bachelor's degrees. In 1978, the college was renamed Concordia College-Nebraska, and in 2005, it became Concordia University-Nebraska. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and has been so since 1925. As of fall 2019, the university enrolls 2,037 undergraduate and 572 graduate students, representing 28 U.S. states and 24 countries. The average class size is 19 students, and the student-to-faculty ratio is 12:1. Concordia University-Nebraska offers over 60 undergraduate majors and programs, as well as 12 graduate programs. The university's athletic teams, known as the Bulldogs, compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) as a member of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). Men's sports include baseball, basketball, bowling, cross country, football, golf, soccer, tennis, and track and field; while women's sports include basketball, bowling, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.
