Founded in 1843, the College of the Holy Cross is a private, Jesuit liberal arts college in Worcester, Massachusetts. Holy Cross is the oldest Catholic college in New England and one of the oldest in the United States. Holy Cross is highly selective; in 2019, the college admitted 1,935 out of 8,920 applicants for a first-year class size of 455 students.

The college's undergraduate program is noted for its rigorous academics. Holy Cross offers more than 50 majors, minors, and special programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees. Holy Cross also offers a number of joint-degree programs with other colleges and universities.

The college is renowned for its commitment to social justice, and students have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of service-learning and community-based learning experiences. Holy Cross students are also active in a number of extracurricular activities, including more than 100 student organizations, intramural and club sports, and performance groups.

The college is located on a 140-acre campus in the center of Worcester. Holy Cross's athletic teams, known as the Crusaders, compete in the NCAA Division I Patriot League. The college's mascot is the Crusader, a knight on a horse, and its colors are purple and white.
