Founded in 1969, College of the Atlantic is a small, private liberal arts college located in Bar Harbor, Maine. It is the only college in the United States whose sole focus is on the study of the environment and human ecology. In addition to its innovative and interdisciplinary curriculum, the college is known for its commitment to sustainability, social responsibility, and global citizenship.

Since its founding, College of the Atlantic has been at the forefront of environmental education and research.
