Cleveland Institute of Art is a private college of art and design located in the University Circle neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. It was founded in 1882 as the Western Reserve School of Design for Women, and became the Cleveland Institute of Art in the 1920s. The college offers Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in a variety of majors, as well as Master of Fine Arts and Master of Arts degrees.

The college is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It is a member of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design.

The college's campus includes the Joseph McCullough Center for the Visual Arts, which houses the George Gund Foundation Library, the Reinberger Gallery, and the Student Center; the Joseph and Nancy Keithley Center for Drawing and Painting; the Peter B. Lewis Center for the Visual Arts; and the George Gund Hall of Art.

The college's alumni include a number of notable artists, designers, and architects, such as Maya Lin, David Lynch, James Victore, and Michael Bierut.
