Capitol Technology University is a private, for-profit university located in Laurel, Maryland, United States. The university was founded in 1927 as the Capitol Radio Engineering Institute (CRI) by E. Gifford Upjohn, and was later renamed in honor of Upjohn's son, Capitol Technology University's current president and CEO, Richard Upjohn. The university offers bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering, computer science, business, and other disciplines.

Capitol Technology University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The university's engineering programs are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

The university enrolls approximately 1,000 students, and has a faculty of over 100 full-time and adjunct faculty members. The university's campus covers 50 acres (20 ha) of land in Laurel, Maryland.

The university offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs through its five schools: the School of Engineering, the School of Business, the School of Computer Science, the School of Information Technology, and the School of Continuing and Professional Studies.

The School of Engineering offers bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and other engineering disciplines. The School of Business offers bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration, accounting, and other business disciplines. The School of Computer Science offers bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science, information systems, and other computer-related disciplines. The School of Information Technology offers bachelor's and master's degrees in information technology, web design, and other IT-related disciplines. The School of Continuing and Professional Studies offers bachelor's and master's degrees in a variety of disciplines, including engineering, business, computer science, and information technology.
