Founded in 1952, Austin Graduate School of Theology (AGST) is an accredited institution of higher learning that offers graduate-level theological education leading to the Master of Divinity (M.Div.), Master of Arts in Theological Studies (M.A.T.S.), and Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degrees. AGST is located in Austin, Texas, and is affiliated with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.

The mission of AGST is to prepare women and men for Christian leadership in the church and the world. The school accomplishes this mission by offering a curriculum that is academically excellent, theologically sound, and practically oriented; by maintaining a faculty of highly qualified scholars and experienced practitioners; and by providing an environment conducive to the development of spiritual maturity, personal growth, and lasting friendships.

AGST is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS) and by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The M.Div. and M.A.T.S. programs are each 90 semester hours in length and typically take three years of full-time study to complete. The D.Min. program is 36 semester hours in length and typically takes two years of full-time study to complete.

AGST offers a variety of courses in Old and New Testament, church history, theology, Christian ethics, pastoral care, and practical ministry. Students also have the opportunity to participate in field education and internships, which provide valuable real-world experience. AGST graduates are prepared for careers in a wide variety of settings, including the pastorate, chaplaincy, missions, education, counseling, and social work.
